:-( fed up

[link to this post]

Had a BT Engineer last week as my internet was only 45mb and I signed up with a 74mb connection. They said there was a fault so sent a engineer, changed my profile and also new box on wall as Openreach man said strike by lightening, speed went to 54mb and was slowly increasing.

Noticed this week speeds slow again did tests on WiFi and wired connection 26mb, 34mb, 36mb fastest I’m getting that’s with a Fibre Extra package, so now Plusnet are sending another engineer on Friday.

Really hope they can fix my connection this time making my Xbox SX and PS5 connections sluggish.

School holidays again. All at home caning the broadband there and causing congestion in many places.

Connections: OnePlus 8 Pro, 4G max 165Mbps down, 24Mbps up on Three Mobile, and B311 4G router, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up.

Could be crosstalk issues as more and more customers fill up the cabinet to reduced your speed further!

Openreach coming in morning between 8 and 1, Plusnet sending due to be being under the minimum guarantee. I don’t wanna leave Plusnet and they know this as I’ve never had a problem! They said if it doesn’t get fixed I will have option to leave without any termination fee, but I’ve got my fingers crossed and toes that it’s a good wizard coming lol.

P.S - thanks for your replies

Are you looking at the connection speeds reported by the router, or just speed tests?

Openreach only have responsibility for connection speeds, but speed test results can be considerably lower if there is congestion, even if you connect the testing device to the router by ethernet. If you are connecting to the router by wifi then they can be all over the place.

The crosstalk max is talking about only affects connection speeds.

ADSLMAX

there will be a fair traffic polciy and especially during busy periods to ensure a service to all you might get some reductions --

this is a contended not an uncontended service

PS when you doing your fibre on demand service then
