On Freeview, most channels are SD, saying that most channels are full of rubbish and that includes the main ones as well.

Netflix (which is clearly a streaming service rather than a channel) certainly do make you pay more for higher definition: SD (480p) being £5.99, HD (1080p) is £9.99 and 4K is £13.99 per month.

It's not just differences in definition with Netflix though, the amount of devices you can use simultaneously differs with each tier.

The "Basic" plan only allows 1 stream, "Standard" allows 2, and "Premium" allows 4
