Plusnet FTTH

[link to this post]

Openreach have confirmed I can get FTTH now.

A week or so ago I spoke to Plusnet who said they'd release me from contract to go to BT but at that point systems were not fully updated, my post code could get FTTH but not my number.

I rang again yesterday with the same question, but now, in a weeks time I was told, Plusnet would have their own FTTH, the chap was just getting training on processes and prices etc, although it was a bit confusing as asked me how good the current service was, number of devices what I used the conx for etc.

To be honest the current FTTC is very good and serves 5 of us for WFH , Netflix gaming etc but a Fibre conx with better pings is appealing, faster dl is good too.

Anybody else have any info on Plusnets intentions ?, BT prices seem a bit rich so if Plusnet is a tenner below thats good

This will be of interest to many people, I knew Plusnet were planning on selling FTTP but by what you've been told it should be available very very soon smile

Out of interest, will Plusnet release you to go to EE as well ?

I wonder if this is all BT Group's plan to wind Plusnet down, (eventually to nothing of course, as everyone will end up on FTTP !)

Wasn't mentioned, but EE don't seem to do phone numbers so that rules it out for me.... smile

Be very very surprised Max, Plusnet have released their Full Fibre Service today, but it doesn't show up on the website yet unless you look at the detailed prices in the legal stuff. It can only be ordered over the phone.

Full Fibre 36 - £27, Full Fibre 74 - £30, Full Fibre 145 - £35, Full Fibre 300 - £40, Full Fibre 500 - £47, Full Fibre 900 - £55. Compatible line required.

On the forum JonoH says " for now it will be offered to customers calling in to renew contracts if FTTP is available to them."

Seems like a pretty low key product launch to me.

Yes indeed. And until someone starts selling a low-cost FTTP 40/10 option with voice, people are going to stick with copper.

Which reminds me: does the Plusnet FTTP come with voice, i.e. are they using the voice port in their new hub?

If they are, I wonder if they are just relabelling BT FTTP and selling it under the Plusnet brand?
