Just been connected to Sky BB, just wondering what speed I should expect with my line stats after the 10 day bedding in period.
Today is day two, here are the stats,
CONNECTION SPEED 7006 Kbps 796 Kbps
LINE ATTENUATION 22.5 db. 9.7db
NOISE MARGIN. 10.8 db. 14.0db
Was quoted a very general speed of between 10 and 20 mb
Many thanks!!!

Upper end of the estimate I should say around 17-19 Mb

Sky Broadband Unlimited LLU without TV

For that attenuation 14-18 Mbps. However you don''t seem to have a great deal of downstream SNR margin to spare so I guess it might be lower, perhaps 11 Mbps. You'll know for sure shortly.

Was quoted a very general speed of between 10 and 20 Mb Should get the top of that range if they put your NOISE MARGIN (NM) down to 6 dB.
However even now with it at 10.8 db you should be getting about 17- 18 Meg, but that may be due to their training period.

Thanks guys for your quick replies! yesterday it only synched at 4000 kbps so I'm sure it will increase nicely over the next 10 days if it reaches 14-15 Mbps I'll be very happy indeed.

Yes, I believe Sky start with your Sync at 4 Meg and gradually increase it to see for how long it stays stable. That would explain your low Sync now.

my sync speed has remain about 9000kbps for the past three days! Is this normal during the 10 day testing period? I was expecting an increase daily tbh :-// here are my latest stats! Maybe I'm expecting too much to quickly
CONNECTION SPEED. 9212 Kbps. 1016 Kbps
LINE ATTENUATION 21.5 db. 11.5 db
NOISE MARGIN. 6.8 db. 7.5. db

If you have a test socket within your BT master socket plug your router in there and get/post the stats again.

you seem to have a issue with your line quality, no mre available snrm, very low, you shoul dget near to full 20Mbps.

Hi I didn't actually have a test socket! Just two of the smaller types! Removed the faceplate of both and they both and the orange and White wire connected to the no.3 socket?! Removed the wire from both and everything seems the same except the Downstream Noise Margin is now 12.3db, have I made it worse? Lol
