According to the above URL :-
"Theres a delay with your Sky Broadband & Talk order which were working hard to fix. If your installation or activation dates are affected, we'll let you know."
Well I am browsing via my newly activated Sky broadband, so ......
Why do these companies pay good money for software that doesn't do it's job?

Message has now changed and tells me my broadband has been activated a couple of days ago.
Still saying there is a problem with my phone.
"Your Broadband subscription was activated on Tuesday 6 December.
Theres a delay with your Sky Talk order which were working hard to fix. If your installation or activation dates are affected, we'll let you know."
How can I have broadband without a phone?

Yep. Been with Plusnet for the last twelve months, but they don't seem interested in customer retension.

Then you will still have part service on BTW and part on Sky's network if that's the case.
Which would help to explain your question
As with most companys, it's all about the new customer only.
Your previous ISP list is awesome, I remember pulling my hair out to get on the list of X-Stream and sceaming.net. Never tried any of the others apart from AOL(beta tested the 0800 access). The best years of my internet life brother!

"Your Broadband subscription was activated on Tuesday 6 December.
Your Sky Talk phone line was activated on Thursday 8 December."
I wonder when they are going to tell me, as they promised? And why?
As, you say companies aren't interested in any but new customers, which is very short sighted but results in my list of former ISPs for one.

I guess it varies from system to system. When I had my main ISP put in the order stayed in the pre activation status for 3 days before it changed. Did not affect the service though.

I've no doubt it is a cockup by Openreach, but that doesn't excuse Sky from letting customers know.
Similar thing happened when I swapped from EE to Plusnet. Plusnet blamed EE and EE blamed Plusnet. My point is broadband relies on an active phone line and when you pay for a package that is what you should get, not half a package!

I totally agree BUT it could be worse you could have no current phone line to Plusnet at all and therefore no internet, i've seen it happen so many times but it's now why they always do Broadband migration first thesedays

Yep: that is what happened when I moved from EE to Plusnet.
They really do need to get their act together as it puts a lot of people off transferring providers!
