Does anyone know for sure if the Sky Ultrafast FTTP package is :-
a) 150/30
b) 160/30
The info on their web site is as follows but I was asked by someone to clarify it.
148 - 151 Mb/s Estimated download speed
26 - 32 Mb/s Estimated upload speed

Looking at BT OpenReach price list the product is 160/30. But, ISPs signed up to the Ofcom code of practice have to advertise speeds that most of their customers can achieve most of the time so they advertise lower than the link rate (plus overheads mean you wouldn't ever get speed tests or downloads of 160). Not sure though how they are getting 32Mbps on the upstream as it should top out at 30.

Thanks Ian, the predicted upload speed of up to 32Mb/s was confusing me too which put all their predictions into question.

Depend on speedtester used, I get up to 155 down and 30 up on their 150 service.

In my experience Openreach slightly over-provision on the upstream. I'm on Cerberus "300/50" and speedtest.net shows 305 down, 51.5 up.

My experience of lower end FTTP(not Sky), is that speed tests show the 'limits' exceeded by around +5%, and checking my contract this is (much to my surprise) reflected in the predicted download speeds, but not in the predicted upload speeds, I would note though that the minimum guaranteed speed is 80% of predicted speed.

It is 160/30, but that is the sync speed not the throughput speed.
You should expect to get around 145meg download and around 29meg upload in the real world.

I had the offers come up 🆙 n my sky app , so I chose the 150 speed and got all the way through signing up for it right up until page that said sky installation - do you need to be home to allow engineer access , click on no and it comes up with unable to complete order technical problems . Phoned sky and they said wait till January ???
