Does any know know how to set up a series link to record a programme on the same channel at different times, without setiting the recording for each indivdual time,, with BT vision it was a piece of cake but cant do it on sky+
As above - select the appropriate time you want to record it for the first time, then the GREEN button and the series link will select the most appropriate episode for the chosen time.

I do that but for example I had The West Wing set up via series link but when M4 changed the timing Sky+ did not record it but B T vision did - you can select to record a programme at any time / date on a particular channel.
Series link information is sent to the box by the broadcaster, so if the Sky+ box doesn't series link on a programme correctly, then that is the fault of the broadcaster, not the box.
