Just punched my telephone number in on the sky.com checker and it has said :-

Great news - Sky is expanding our broadband and calls network in your area! We'll be completing this rollout over the next 3 months.

Any idea on a more specific date?

My exchange is Hollinswood \ WNHLN

My friend gets this now on sky.com but he lives in a very small town with a very tiny exchange. Even BT has no date for 21CN services there, and there is no other LLU or cable.

So I think this has to be a mistake on the sky website.

Sounds like the same type as exchange as mine.

I know they recently unbundled a local exchange - a small village exchange on the edge of town so you never know.

Not sure I want to join Sky Broadband - don't like the sound of DLM.

My mate is on this one - he gets a solid 8meg download sync, upload 448kbps for the last 3 years on Sky's Connect service. 17db attenuation.

Always possible I guess; but when the exchange is smaller than a garage, you do start to wonder. The exchange in my town (Farnborough) is the size of a business office block.

Says the same for me and I live in the wilderness where there is just adsl for everything, so I reckon it's pie in the sky

I found out today that they have unbundled our exchange, that explains why they have been in town over the last few weeks, i thought they was telling lies when they had a board saying about cheap broadband, seems like they was not.



i don't think i am interested, happy with my broadband, at least I have no limits and no shaping and to be honest if I got Sky then i would have to get a T.v licence so I would not be saving any money

You can get Sky broadband without having to take the TV service now.

I just had a look, without Sky talk it is £15 a month, with Sky talk it is £10 a month, pretty good, but it makes me wonder how they can don it so cheap and what corners are cut.

Hi BuckleZ i checked on the sky website and it says i would only be able to get 5megs and i am not far from the exchange(just over 1 mile )so it looks like that bt has not done the full asdl2 upgrades yet

I don't think they cut corners with the service other than perhaps with the offshore support, they use it more as a loss leader to entice you in to taking their other services, hence it being cheaper with Sky Talk because that's where they can make some money out of you. Murdoch doesn't give things away free or cheap because he's a philanthropist, there's always a motive that usually involves extracting more money out of you.
