20mb broadband producing <1mb speeds at peak time.

Well firstly it's up to 20Mb and secondly the speed you sync with the exchange is dependent on line length/quality. There is nothing Sky or any other ISP can do about it I'm afraid.

Sky have been having problems in some areas for quite a while now. My area North Wales has been affected since around mid December, Slow throughput, high latency and packet loss have been the norm since then. I sync with my exchange at 19998 and in the day I can easly max my line out but in peak times that drops to anything as low as 0.16mb/s.
Sky did attempt to fix the problem on the 28th but this didnt work pings are now ok but throughput is still dire and there is now significant packet loss (something not seen before the fix) I have been in touch with support who can offer no information about when the ongoing issuess in this area will be sorted, Sky's own forums are full of complaints about slow speeds on their llu product and it seems to be spreading to other areas. There is some speculation that the roll out of the anytime+ service is to blame for the issuess.

I thought the OP was talking about sync speed, but maybe I'm wrong?

He may well be talking about sync speed. I just wanted to point out that in some areas there are significant problems on the llu product that Sky are classing as minor. I also ought to have said anyone affected by peaktime slowdown on unlimited ought to raise a ticket about it with Sky support as in their own words " its the only way it will get looked at if enougth people complain"

Well it�s nice to hear Scarborough is all fine anyway.

I was very close to switching to Sky, but all the reports of people having problems is really putting me off.

I've sadly been one of the unluck "North Wales" customers suffering with poor capacity.

I sync and have a profile around 3-4mb.

I bearly struggle to get 50-kb/s at peak times. I haven't got the time to fight Sky at the moment but it's shocking.
