Can i get a speed increase

Hi all im always on this site but rarely post but now asking for a bit of advice
Ive just had a problem with my phone line resolved, and it has actually made my downstream db lower than it was before
Ive always got a very steady 5mb connection with 46db downstream,snr between 5 and 7 since i had my line fault sorted a few days ago my db has dropped to 41 and snr is 11 to 12.
Does anyone think i could now get an increase in speed at all from this, is it worth ringing them and who would i ring?

Any help or advice appreciated, full stats are as below if of any help to anyone

I reckon you should be able to get at least 8meg with a lower SNR have you tried contacting sky and get the to have a mess its helped me in the past.

Going to give them a ring shortly i think and see if they can, was wondering what my chances would be first, so thought would ask on here

yea its best to dlm screwed my line and wouldn't budge it past 7.5meg i got the to have a mess manually and they got me upto 11meg DLM reli is C.R.A.P lol

How did it go have they managed to help you get better speeds ?.

hiya, i rang them, did a few tests, put it up in half megs, now stable at 6.5 mg, any higher than that and snr dropped below 6
But not bad increase from a faulty line, nice bonus 1 and half meg increase for nothing

Yea that's true they did get me upto 12.5 the snr was about 5 but my router rebooted and DLM kicked in and lowered it back down below 10 so they manual set me at 11 again so i thought ill not push it again stick at at stable 11 lol but yea 1.5meg dose make a lot of difference ive noticed that more now when i was with virgin media 50meg i took the speed for granted with the timeit took to get things and now im on ADSL i really do value those extra K'ss that i can squeeze out of my line lol

same here, can d/l a gig in about 25 mins now, was about 40 mins before, so about fifteen mins diff, and does make a difference your right, especially when using steam etc

Can the snr change during the 10 day line adaption?

My snr is at around 7 even after changing the filter and unplugging the phones from it, sync is way to high at 9500 but that should decrease on its own.

Why do you say the sync is too high? Is the line unstable, if so then the sync could drop and the SNR increase. But if the line is stable then that doesn't look too bad to me, if anything I would say the sync is actually a little low for the attenuation.
