What Next

I need some help to resolve a MAC issue, rather than write a long post I have provided a link MAC for Sky to the relevant info. (Click on thumbnail to enlarge)

If you have ordered Sky line rental and broadband since September 1st then it will be implemented using full LLU and there is no need for MAC.

Ideally you contact the losing provider for your MAC, BEFORE placing any order with the new provider.

I guess Sky has not updated its systems.

You request a MAC from your current ISP (it takes a few days to be issued).

You then WAIT for the MAC to arrive.

When you have the MAC, then you sign up with a new ISP.

You went about it wrong, and it's to late now to get a MAC.

I just moved from ADSL24 to Sky, and I did not need to get a MAC at all. I made the order on 6th September, and the switch was made on 20th. I had no contact with ADSL24, only Sky.

When I was placing the order, I was initially told I would need a MAC, but when the Sky agent re-checked, he said none was in fact required.

No, I wasn't moaning about anything. I asked for help from you guy's to resolve an issue where Sky insist I need a MAC and my ISP can't provide one. Its now clear that I should have got the MAC first and it will cost me £28 + VAT cease charge. All I want is Sky talk and broadband to both work on 10-09-2011.

I'm not convinced that a MAC would have made any difference to the charge. The charge I presume is due to the BT Wholesale phone line ceasing, as a result of the move to the Sky LLU phone line.
