"New network"?

I got a letter from Sky a couple days ago stating I was going to be moved to their 'New network'.

Before you say it - I'm already on their LLU product. Dorchester has been active for some time.

As far as I can work out - seems to be something to do with phone network....

Anyone else shed any light on this???

Do you currently pay line rental to sky? If yes then it will be you moving from shared LLU to full LLU

AH - yes, I do have line rental. looks like I'm going full LLU then.

IIRC ages ago when Sky started line rental it was still on a BT line. They subsequently started only offering full LLU....but those on an existing BT line had the option to stay that way.

This was your case I guess, so I wondered if this change to full LLU was still optional as I cannot see any great advantage unless the line rental will be cheaper.

Moving ISP can be more complicated and expensive when an ISP controls the line.

I did not think they was forcing their customers to change? Oh dear i better tell a couple of people I know, then they can make the choice of leaving or staying before Sky changes them over.

I have a couple of friends on SkyBB but they do not have line rental with Sky. Hopefully sky won't try and move them, as I can see that coming to tears. :-/

If the line is not with Sky, they should get contacted by their current supplier to let them know that someone is trying to take over the line.

One of them got line rental with Sky as well as broadband, the other have got line rental with someone else.

It is the one that got sky line rental that I warned. He said he is going to talk it over which is other half and she what she says as he is happy with the broadband, but he don't like the idea that if they wanted to move to another broadband provider it would be difficult.

The other one with the line rental by someone else is pretty safe, as been said above, not really possible to move them, but Sky could say you either move your line rental with us or you can go and get broadband elsewhere. i con't see that happening myself, but you never know.
