Router Question

I'm thinking of moving to Sky as they have LLU'd our exchange. The exchange is 20cn and no date for 21cn.
I have a Netgear DG834PN router.
Is this OK for Sky LLU or do I have to use a Sky supplied router?
Also if Sky supply a router what router is it likely to be?

You'll need to hack your user ID & pwd out of supplied router. There are methods on the Net for doing this.

It should be noted that the usual website for getting passwords out of Sky routers is offline though: https://www.cm9.net/skypass/

They should supply you a wireless N router.

The PN is not wireless N... So arguably if you are using wifi the sky router may perform better.

Give it a shot.

Nope the PN dates as far back as 2006.

Wireless N wasn't ratified until september 2009 & there were some draft application slightly earlier, but not on the PN.

The PN has 108 mbps support, but chances are all of your devices don't support this and will fallback to 54mbps.

You will probably get the Sky Sagemcom F@ST2304n (think that's the right one)

It's a really good router I find. I have it and I can literally plug it in and forget it. I've had over 1500 hours of uptime and it's been perfect.

It also gets wifi signal to where my previous WNR2000 & virginmedia superhub could not.

I would go for SKY LLU and just use the router they provide. Wait a month and see of this is to your liking, if not then you can always move to another router, but make sure you get your username/password/MAC ID from your existing router first.

I am now just using the sky router
