Finally got an LLU providor on our exchange, which is Sky, and have a few questions which someone might be able to answer. I switched on 1/12/11.
Loving the doubled upload speed to 1080 kbps
What should I expect for download? I used to get connected at around 6 to 70000 on ADSL now getting 10239 kbps on ADSL2+.
The line stats are Line Attenuation 26.5 dB.and connected using MER. It was 27 dB but got an extra 0.5 dB by disconnecting ring wire in master socket. Made no difference to speed. I am happy with the improvement from ADSL but some sites imply that it should be faster download and may help when kids get on iplayer!
Router Sky supplied is Sagemcom F@ST2504n. Seems OK but prefer Draytek 2830 I have as I can control bandwidth hogs in household. Currently got Draytek 2830 running off Sagemcom F@ST2504n. Can I remove the Sagemcom F@ST2504n or am I better keeping it to confirm to Sky's T&C's?
thks
P.S. Slightly annoyed at Sky ads that state I could get free broadband for 6 months on the winter sale but I guess that is the luck of the draw.
