Sky Low Upstream ?

Could someone please look at my stats and advise if my upstream should be better than that of what it is, I have never got above the current upstream yet Sky say that my upstream is set to 1.3Mb....

Billion 7800n (Fully Tweaked SNR)

I have used both the D-Link and Sagem Sky Routers and the upload is always the same, no difference....

I've even had Sky set the Profile Manually and also (recently) gone through the line retraining but nothing, upload remains the same

Well with such a short line you should be getting the full sync easily, it is somehow being capped or there is some type of fault somewhere, and you should get near that downstream sync without tweaking the margin down , just out of interest what upstream sync do you get when you raise the downstream to say 3 or 6db does it increase or stay the same ?

It remains the same, I am totally confused because even at my old address (12months ago) my upstream was no better than what it is now. where I live now is actually further away from the exchange

DLM will be the culprit, the old easynet Stinger DSLAMS & line cards should support upto at least 22mbit and 1-2/3 mbit up just that sky hard cap it or dlm does it by default But i would say that they are capping the sync speeds by default or due to DLM interfering, doubtful that they will admit to it though, bang -head brick -wall !! I'm afraid

It's because you are using a Broadcom based router connecting to a Conexant DSLAM.

Something like a Billion 7402NX or Netgear DG834v5 would probably get you the max of 1.2mb. iirc its capped by the dslam at 1216. So the 1.3 advertised is not technically true.

It would probably also improve your downstream.
