Which router does Sky provide?

Just purely out of curiosity, I am wondering what the exact make and model of router Sky currently provides to new LLU customers

Sagecom v6 in a box that is a mini replica of the Sky+ boxes

Very likely the Sagem F@ST2504n Router, very likely as above.

Okay, so after researching the router my mate took the plunge and signed up with Sky.

He chose Sky Broadband Unlimited, Sky Talk Unlimited and Sky Line Rental.

He is currently with Plusnet for all three as I was and I think it's a BTW ADSLmax service.

Sky have already given him his Line Activation date, but he is unsure as to when his broadband will be activated (ie: how long from the line being activated to his broadband being activated).

Also, because he works from home he wonders whether his Plusnet broadband will stop working when Sky take over his telephone line.

Can anyone enlighten him over these questions?

for me broabdand and phone were provided simultaneously

Also the router provided has an excellent wireless coverage. Far better than most routers.

Awesome. Did you switch from BTW to LLU?

With Sky doing full LLU the two usually happen at the same time.

My broadband was down for a few hours during the switch, got an SMS once it was active, and router logs confirmed the SMS was sent when router went online.

In short don't plan on a 15 minute downtime, but assume offline all day.

But it wouldn't be more than 24 hours for a switch from BTw to Sky LLU?

Never say never, an hour or two is to be expected. But these things sometimes do go wrong.
