fibre slowed down

Not too sure but it looks like sky are slowing me down on the new fibre broadband when first connected i got 37 down 1.71 up now an down to 20 down 1.71 up any idea,s to what may be going on . Sky did say i would get 40 down.

Is that your speed test results or connection speed?

speedtest results mate.
I've just downloaded a 200mb file off this site and it took 1min 56secs, which is roughly equivalent to 20mb

what connection speed does the sky router report?

Downstream 39996 kbps
upstream 2000 kbps
I've been on to sky earlier, they have said give it 2 weeks to let thing stabilise then see how the speed is

Fibre services are not immune to contention, and this can affect their fibre service too. So question is whether you used to see speeds vary at all previously?

If a number of people have just signed up to Sky Fibre it is possible that contention has got worse.

Contention is why places like South Korea with fibre almost everywhere still show a 17 Meg average

sky are a pain in the ass.

I was thinking off getting fttc shoud be with my exchange soon although it means me paying extra 7.5 pounds PM. If your getting around 20 meg like me stats;

will i get a better ping time to say bbc.co.uk or ping in the gaming will be better If not Shall I stick to LLU, the posted stats from router is what i get in download speeds about 1.8 to 1.9 MB/s.
