A few people have been wondering what offers are available for upgrading to sky fibre. For new customers or those without broadband via sky something like topcashback is a good starting point.
For those already with ADSL its trickier but thought I'd share what I've agreed:
I spoke to an agent and was offered fibre for the standard £20 per month (£12.50 more than i'm paying now for ADSL) I then asked to be passed to cancellations to see how I cancelled my broadband/phone should I decide that talktalk/BT would be better. I then explained to the retentions agent that I was happy with sky and their pricing is comparable to the competition but they have "new customer" offers that would make it worthwhile leaving for and cashback offers too.
He went checked my account, clicked a few buttons etc and offered discounted line rental for 12 months. I'll be paying £3 rather than £12.25 for line rental now.
This makes the additional cost of fibre only £3.25 per month for the next 12 months - so more than worth it, even if i already get 18Mbps.
Now just got to wait a couple of weeks to get it installed.
