drop in sync

hi, yesterday I moved from a bt line adsl2+ to sky llu, I have been syncing at around 6000to 6500 with a noise margin of 6 on the bt line, I tried skys router on my bt line yesterday and it sync up at 6591 with a noise margin of 6, now the line has gone over to sky I am syncing at 4088 with a margin of 6, is it possible for this to improve or have they somehow made the line noisier when connecting at the exchange, my att is 47.5

hi oliver, the point I am trying to make is if I am syncing at 4088 with a noise margin of 6 wouldn't a higher sync rate , say 5000 reduce my noise margin and make the line unstable

Sky use a different way to handle speeds.

They start people off at 4 Meg, and you don't see spare noise margin like you would normally expect, due to a power management algorithm they use.

So yes this is all perfectly normal for Sky.
