SMS Received.... Sky?

I've just received the following SMS Text Message;

"Your bill is ready to view online, payment will be collected in the next few days.
Review your transactions on sky.com/mysky. For any queries, call 08002600400"

I've never received anything like this from Sky before and I'm curious of the authenticity of this, is this legitimate or not?

The reason I ask is because its not near my bill/payment date....

If it is some sort of spam then it is unclear what would be gained as it is pointing you to the correct website and a freephone number. Suspect it is legit.

So the number advertised is a Sky number, best check in case the hyperlink directs me to somewhere else instead of Sky....

I'm not sure that you can do URLs in SMS that give different text to the URL itself. So, I am assuming your phone would just convert something that looks like a URL to a hyperlink - and as the text in the SMS of sky.com/mysky is the right address it looks harmless to me.

Well, as you said the address is harmless. As you, I'm not sure if you can place hyperlinks in SMS text messages but as with anything, there's always an app which can :/

Just seemed odd to get an SMS when I've never received one before from Sky about my bills/payments.....

Have Sky ever used freephone numbers before?

I've heard of people being handed out a freephone number when complaining about paying to phone support. They don't make it public though.
