Using Own modem instead of hub

I know back in the day you could quite easily get your username and password out of the sky routers and use your own router as i used to be with sky a few year ago,
Well ive now gone back to them on ADSL and they've sent me a sky hub which i will say looks quite nice but its lacking on firmware and fetchers so i want to use my PFsence router because this allows things like load balancing and other more advanced networking,

So my question is dose anyone know how you get your user out of the sky hub so i would be able to use my old (bought off ebay unlocked) openreach modem plugged into my PFsence Router i cant seam to find much info i keep getting results about the old routers

thanks that was very quick i must of been searching for the wrong thing because i kept finding pages on there but kept relating the the older routers that looked like sky HD boxes lol.

Also as Sky has purchased o2/BE who very often used their own routers, during the transition over Sky will be making it possible to use your own router officially It will not be supported by customer services, e.g. they cannot help you with it, but they will allow you to get the username and password officially and provide basic setup instructions. For now though you can get it as mentioned above.

A Fibre OR modem on a ADSL connection? Or did OR do ADSL modems?

the openreach modem supports ADSL1 all way up to VDSL2
