I have a Sky Hub, black version for fibre. SR102.
With regards to the WiFi being on AUTO. Has anybody actually observed in the real world the router changing the WiFi channel. My experience is that on bootup it will choose a channel and I believed it just stayed there. I have had my router manually set to channel 1, but of late I keep getting some interference which slows my net down from 40Mbps on WiFi to 0.5Mbps. Moving to channel 6 solves this for a week or so, then it comes back on channel 6, switching to channel 11 or back to 1 solves it.
So the interference is hopping around all of the channels too it seems...
So I have now switched the router back onto AUTO. Is it likely that it will just switch channels when this interference occurs?
Has anybody ever seen the Sky hub changing the channel on its own accord without a reboot?
If it did change channel surely it would create the following.
Fire up a stream. Sky hub decides to change channel. Laptop disconnects from Sky hub and hops onto next doors BTWiFi-With-Fon. Everything is disrupted. Or does it do it dynamically?
Ps tried two routers. I am convinced the interference is a neighbours device.
