O2 wireless box II

[link to this post]

After not quite 13 years (my O2 adsl service went live at the end of April 2009) and then the transfer to Sky in 2014, my O2 wireless box II is still going strong save that the wifi has given up in the last day or so.

All indicator lights are green save for 'wireless' that is a steady amber.

https://o2wirelessbox.lan no longer is accessible, so it seems no longer possible to access the box as administrator, or indeed download latest firmware ....

I've run checks via https://www.sky.com/mybroadband/diagnostic and that concludes there is a connection problem ..... and a replacement box has been ordered.

Is there anything else that occurs to anyone that I could try?

BTW, my first commercial dial up service was with BT Internet in 1996, then on to Demon and then Pipex, migrating up to adsl with O2 (on our dodgy old copper pair in the heart of central London .... Prior to that, working for BT, I had access via our extranet.

A great little router that, I had a website detailing some of the things you could do with it (I gave up the domain in 2013).

You should probably reply to the original poster so they get an email.

So presumably you are connected to the box by an ethernet cable if there is no WIFI? And the internet works when using an ethernet cable enough to do sky diagnosistics?

Does 192.168.1.254 get you into the settings? Possibly username and password as unknown

According to https://www.192-168-1-1-ip.co/manuals/9406.pdf an amber wifi light means it is working and using WEP encryption. If you used WPA password then it would be green. If it flashes then then there is wifi traffic.

So odd that you can't see any wifi networks?
