Sky phone cost?

[link to this post]

Hi, We are on the Sky 150mbps broadband only. We have never used the phone connected to the router until last week. My Wife was in hospital for a several days and because I don't have a mobile phone, I used the router phone to call her several times a day, sometimes the call would last 20 - 25 minutes. My Wife informed me today that she had just paid the Sky bill for the month and that we had not been charged for the calls. Can anyone enlighten me as to why?

Just to clarify all Sky broadband products come with a Sky telephone service via the socket on the back of the router.

There are two possible reasons I can see

1) You are paying extra for 'Evening and Weekend Extra' or 'Anytime Extra' inclusive calls so these calls wouldn't be charged separately.
2) The cut off for telephone call being included in the latest bill had passed, if this is the case log in and check on the next bill.

Hopefully 1) and not 2).

Personally my own outgoing "home phone" usage is Skype to landline these days, with caller ID set to my landline number. ISP phone rates outside call packages are extortionate.

Oliver.

Thank you for replying.
It would appear that we are getting free phone calls. My Wife checked the date and confirmed that there were no phone call charges.

Just remember it's normal for service rental to be charged in advanced, but calls in arrears (for obvious reasons).
