Re: Zen or my local exchange busted......again?

According to the PlusNet Support website and Bob Pullen it was .....
It was due to a problem at a POP in Glasgow causing (quite severe) degradation of service (BT ref:59810).
A hardware replacement was carried out early hours, and the issue marked as resolved at 4am on 31/12/15.

Hopefully it will be OK from now on smile

This may ruffle some feather but I actually detest BT and their entire infrastructure with a passion.
No slur or ill wishes to anyone that has or does continue to work with BT.

I think the entire organisation [ I say that loosely ] is far far too fragmented, quite often one department hasn't got a clue what the other is doing.

I'm talking about my own personal experiences and can imagine it will be vastly different in other parts of the country.

The fragmentation is the result of 30 years of regulation to encourage competition and others to grow and compete at the national level.

Indeed:
30 years of dreadfully thought out regulation after a poorly conceived privatisation.

Everything is dying tonight as both lines are fubar.

I don't mean to seem churlish but why take both lines from the same retail provider? You've single points of failure throughout once you get past the cabinet.

Very valid point!
I used to have a sky line for adsl/phone. I changed over to Zen for both lines with the intention of moving one of the lines to another provider outwith the BT network at a later date. [in a few months]

That later date is now getting on for 24 + months and that is my own fault as the whole point in 2 lines was redundancy.

Procrastination is terrible, dithering and I fail to answer your question with a honest reply.

I looked at Pluse8 and at Uno, I see Uno have a 'coming soon' pre paid line rental option.
I looked, I asked but thinking to myself 'I will do it tomorrow' sums it up really.
Before I know it months go past..........

Do you know something you post was one of those 'kick up the a** posts' and I think tonight is the night I will change one of the lines.......... I think smile
