that looks to be Huawei 1-port modem!

Escalating it with zen was the best idea, assuming your ont isn't faulty or something within your network, you are provisoned on 330/110 which doesn't make any sense!

It has now been escalated to OpenReach

Cannot be LAN related if workstations (5) connected direct to ONT with Cat 6A cable also produce the same results.

Approx 300 down, 100 up

Sounds like a provisioning fault somewhere, whats weird is the upload, as its that fast, to me sounds like a Zen problem not openreach, but we will have to wait and see, that or there is a faulty line card or something somwhere.

Many Thanks,

It is most odd, but story of my life’

Sods law! Nothing ever goes right first time!

Probably have to document the Openreach visit with a body cam because last time Openreach lied to Zen and it turned into a shot show over no fault found but Openreach changed something but never documented it so I told Zen of Openreach visit my premises again I will record them when they step over the threshold into my property!

To avoid the £152 charge!

final time, I've tested with direct PPPoE connections direct from workstations, just in case there was a change we missed, same speeds.

I may turn off over night, something may reset by the gremlins!

It could in principle be a faulty ONT, but a fault which limits to 300M, for both single and multi-threaded tests, would be weird.

An ONT fault which limits to ~90M is more usual (gigabit ethernet port running at 100M)

Could the OP's profile got updated on the upload and not the download? As he's tested five boxes direct to the ont, and i can't see 5 sfp/rj45 ports being dodgy.

A profile is a profile, and includes both upload and download speeds. But I guess it could be something weird at the OLT (although Zen say they've reapplied the profile)

Maybe five boxes have been tested, but all to the same ONT.

It could be an IP profile issue at Zen - especially if their IP profile limits the download direction but is uncapped in the upload direction.

Agree with that too..... I'd have tested with a standard 1gbe nic and with a tested cat5e just to be 200% sure. Could have been five boxes with the same cable - who knows.

Until we know more from the op and zen we just sit and wait!

Openreach Engineer removed the BBU (battery backup unit) and

My Broadband Speed Test

He said he's seen many cases where this unit was the cause of issues with speed tests, although he tested the light from exchange which was perfect, but he could not do one of the Exchange BB tests which removes Zen equipment from, the test because the test was down.

So connected with this laptop, to fast.com, and showed me 1.2/1.3 results.

So I checked and get the same above.
