Re: zen pricing seems unfair to existing customers?

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I don't think Zen are being unreasonable here? After the end of the contract, Zen continued to honour the previous price. If the customer wants to sign up to the new price then they can, but they need to commit to a new minimum term like other new customers.

As this, there are ISP's where the price can rise significantly once the contract ends, so a ISP who honours the agreed price until such time as you decide to recontract is quite reasonable.

Oh if this is whats happening, then in that case I think Zen are doing the right thing. They just maintain old terms month to month unless a recontract occurs, nothing wrong with that.

They don't continue the contract price. I was paying £47/month and when the contract ran out it went up to £50 and then a few months later its gone up to £51 (new financial year price rise?).

I don't think that is completely unreasonable though, other than the fact I have been completely unable to get in touch with them to discuss re-contracting as they seem to be really busy all the time.

Although I discovered Quickline Communications are coming to my area at some point, so not sure now if I should commit to a contract or not.

You're paying more because you're out of contract, and you've been offered the exact same pricing as a new customer in exchange for entering into a minimum contract term. I don't think there's anything unfair about it. If you expect to be offered the currently monthly rate that new customers pay without any sort of commitment then you won't have many options.

I do, IFyou have been a loyal customer like me for more than 10yrs were is our loyalty recognition then ?

Most ISPs treat "loyalty" as a license to charge you extra. Be grateful that you can get the "new customer" pricing relatively easily – and if you are indeed loyal then the 18 month commitment won't be a problem.
