Draytek 2600 on AAISP Max account?

[link to this post]

Will my Draytek 2600 be OK on an 8mb account?

Should be.. not a fan of drayteks myself but there are plenty that use them.

If you're planning on moving to 2+ in the future then getting a 2+ capable router would be a good investment, rather than having to buy one later.

I only ask, because that's what i currently have, so rather than buy a router with technology I can't yet get, I'll wait until I can.

Dunno why you don't favour Drayteks, but thanks anyway.

No reasons why that shouldn't work...

We had a few 2600G's on test and we found them less reliable than the Belkin 7632's we continue to use.

Then tended to lock up a fair amount, and the wireless dropped out a lot too.

I was a little disappointed as for most people they work really well.

tx2 - I am not on A&A, but seriously considering them due to support issues with Eclipse, but we have 3 2600's in use. I have posted elsewhere on this, but my experience is split! - they worked very well on the fixed rate lines - however on upgrading to adsl max my experience is very favourable on a short full speed line (full synch @ 8/9db snr), however on longer lines they are not my favourite !, frequent drop off's of synch resulting in increased target snr. A change to using a USR with an older Broadcom chipset improved things considerably & a recent test of a Zyxel with the TI AR7 chipset (to match the TI dslam in the exchange shows an even more stable snr & higher synch speed!)
Try a different router?, but from experience of initial 10 day max time, don't "fiddle" too much as it just confuses the system & results in higher target snr's which are the devil to lower again!
Good luck!

I have had 2 draytek 2600 one wirless one not, at mo im on 2600vg and its excellent, longest uptime is aroud 30days, never locked up, wireless has never dropped. I guess everyone has problems with every router type at some point.
