AAISP look good

[link to this post]

I have just moved after 18months with zen to UKFSN because as a long time Linux user I should be supporting FOSS but it is like Fred Karnos circus. I was going to move back to zen but thought I would have a look at what else is available and AAISP look good. Their website is more technical than others which appeals and their prices may deter the mega downloaders. One aspect which rings the alarm bells is the unlimited off peak. I have no problem with users doing what they like as long as it doesn,t affect my access and speeds, so what are AAISP like in the evenings and weekends. I mostly use the net during the day but having seen last weekend with Enta what an overloaded pipe acts like would not like that as a regular browsing experience.Any feedback welcome

Thanks

There are never any capacity issues...
"We want to always ensure there is no latency/loss at the Bt central which means allowing some headroom."

    - something their MD said earlier today on IRC (19:28:03 if anyone's checking)

People have asked about the 'risk' of unlimited off peak periods and the answers always seem to be pretty similar: if it becomes a problem (i.e. off peak usage becomes greater than peak usage) something will be done about it.

I've only got a 4.5Mb BRAS profile and I've never had any problems in getting 100% d/l from them.

You tend to find that the sort of customers A&A has don't tend to be the usual bandwidth hogging d/l-ers that other ISP's attract.

yep I was part of that convo, I have never noticed any kind of obvious slowdowns during these unlimited periods.
