Hey, could be worse.. You could be with a mainstream provider and still be in the dark. I am not an AA customer and won't be until the day comes they do 1 month contracts, but the MD took the time to sit down and write it out.
Kudos ?

You are right - It could be worse.
And it is. Out again for some hours last night.

It appears that the outage was not down to A&A but BT.
We were given advanced notice:-
Posted: 23 Mar 10:33:28 On the 29th March BT are planning to update some of their core routers. The work is expected to take roughly an hour sometime between 02:00-06:00. We expect this to affect most of our customers on BT backhaul.
Source A&A Status
I continue to be delighted with A&A.

Clearly you missed the DDoS attack they had the last couple of days? That status post was from the 23rd!
|
|
|
Yes - I'm glad to say this DoS attack didn't impact on me.
From the status log it looks as if "Mostly broadband traffic not impacted - but services in Maidenhead are being hit, including VoIP and web servers."
and "Overall traffic for broadband customers does not seem to be that impacted"
The status post was from the 23rd, as you correctly say, it was giving advance notice on the planned downtime by BT in the wee small hours of the 29th. I note there is another planned for 19th April.
I appreciate A&A being so open & keeping us informed.

Making the name of your BQM your IP address and then sharing it isn't a very good idea!

It's not my IP. It's an AAISP gateway...

My BQM shows similar : My Broadband Ping
What it does show is that AAISP dealt with a DDOS in about an hour. I can think of at least one ISP who it is likely wouldn't have even recognised they were being attacked - let alone deal with it!

I got this latest one. No loss of sync. Ended up tethering to my mobile to save losing a post that was at the Preview stage.
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - AAISP Home::1 80/20. 200GB. Sync 71097/14070Kbps @ 600m. BQMs - IPv4 & IPv6

This is frustrating. Over the last few days my internet has been down or slow, for the majority of the time.
I don't have the techie knowledge to debug or work out where the problem is.
I thought paying a premium to be with AA was worth it.. am I mistaken?
Will start looking elsewhere.

Posting here won't get them to investigate it. You contact them and they will advise you. If you want near-instant answer, try their IRC channel.

I did - I emailed their tech support 3 days ago, no reply yet.

Assuming "3 days ago" is on 30th March, it's a Good Friday, which means they're shut. And will be shut tomorrow (Monday) too due to Bank Holiday, so hopefully you will get a reply by Tuesday.

This sounds like something separate, if you've not got in touch with our Support team, then please do - or DM me and I can take a look and pass it on to the team.

Sorry - due to the nature of the incidents it has not been possible to have as much information as we would have liked. Im happy to speak to people and asked about it, if it would be helpful.
