Had a this a couple of times now.unplugging the router has solved it so far.as for asking for my MAC code after a shaky start I think I will stay for the time being it being sorted and thats all I care about

The one good thing about AAISP is that they do keep customers fully informed with updates and HONEST information, totally unlike my previous ISP EntaNOT!

These problems of late are a right pain though and I like many it seems have the situation where my router will not automatically reconnect which is doing my head in but these problems have only started since the changeover to IPSC and so far as with so many BT brainwaves it just does not work properly.

I do hope the problems get solved quickly but I really am refreshed by the honesty of A&A with the ongoing issues as I've already said and it can be clearly seen that they really care about their customer base but as with any ISP going through BT's copper wires their hands are tied by the total ineptitude of B flamin T. frown

Sadly my speed just got worse I got brassed off waiting I realise now that BT were the culprits but that was cold comfort at the time A&A claim that they would fix the line or I would owe nothing was the clincher and to me I had nothing to lose, they did get it fixed and here I am

I was very happy with IDNet for a long time my line was stable and speeds were really good but once I had opted to change to WBC then the troubles began.

it certainly is a shame , i was with idnet for about 1.5 yrs and im sure we talked at netters, my speeds slid well down the can and i got brassed off with a lack of action from support , this was well before WBC days though. I went to O2 and thankfully I am on the LLU ( they are having a helluva time on the 8MB Access package though )

for £9.79 per month I get a constant 17.5MB connection that doesnt slow down at any part of the 24 hr cycle and only thing that causes a line drop would be a power cut ..............ive nothing to find fault with O2 LLU at all.( fingers crossed it stays that way.....LOL )

how are you finding A&A though, Ive never looked back since dropping IDNet for O2 , my only concern with A&A would be that it becomes "the place to go " and a horde of ex-entanetters and other ISP users who download very heavily indeed would flock there and drag A&A to its knees too.

What is the position with A&A and the heavies , is there a FUP to deflect away those who will bring it to its knees ?

A&A charge for usage.. no 'unlimited', so if someone wanted to be a heavy downloader then they're welcome to pay for the bandwidth required to do it.. doing it on peak time would rapidly reach leased line prices tongue

For the average user who's bit more technical (so can use the multiple static IPs, ipv6, SMS notification, bonding, etc.) it's a good deal.

(that said, I know of at least one user who's fond of torrenting stuff.. he sticks to off peak I guess).

That said, they could of course seed torrents 24/7 I guess in theory Tony as A&A don't count uploads in their allowances?

Don't really use them myself either but I guess an A&A customer *does* have unlimited usage in one respect, uploads. grin
