Thinking of joining

[link to this post]

I am a peeved Enta customer who pays £40 a month for what is now a 200KB max service for usenet it seems (my speed today has been nearer 100K), and that is during my paid for allowance. Maybe today is a bad day and tomorrow will be better, but if I get todays speeds tomorrow, then [censored] it.

What could I get with AAISP for £40 a month for a normal ADSL Max customer ? I am very confused by the fee structure, perhaps it is easy though and I am just not working it out correctly. I also hear changes are afoot for January.

I would need 800Kbps+ upload.

Any advice appreciated, thanks smile

For £40 a month you would be able to get one of the Pro tarriffs with the Premium option. The premium option not only gives you the faster upload but also priority for your download traffic. This should reduce the impact of BT congestion on you.

Although the daytime usage allowances look small (you could get 4GB daytime per month for your £40), the evening allowance is 100GB and nighttime usage completely unmetered.

Posters are advised never to give out any personal information of this nature unless they are very sure that it is going to legitimate source, usually the ISP they are with having a verified ISP tag.

Resellers do not get ISP tags and unless they are of long standing on our forums with a proven track record personal details should not be requested.

As this is your very first post I suggest that you refrain from requesting this sort of info from our members.

Edit. See this post. smile

Indeed.

maher 535 works for us and I will have words. Should not have really posted without the ISP title as well.

I have just signed up to AAISP (going live on Monday), and I too have a £40/month budget.

What I am getting for this is the follows:

4Gb download limit, M-F 9am-6pm
100GB download limit 6pm-2am & 6am-9am and all week-end
unlimited (unmetered) downloads 2am-6am
Priority add-on (giving 832k upload speed, and priority download)

this comes in at £36 odd/month.

In January (or could be December, I was a bit confused about the actual timescale), AAISP are bringing in a slightly different pricing structure, whereby you pay for downloadable unit blocks. Plus points and minus points for this. One minus point is that overnight (2am-6am) traffic is now metered, but only at a small fraction (looks like about 1/10th) of the evening (6pm-2am) traffic.

They have a slider "meter" on thier site where you can adjust various download amounts, for different times of the day, and I think the following works best for me:

4.5Gb M-F 9am-6pm
125Gb 6pm-2am & 6am-9am and all weekend (except 2am-6am)
200Gb 2am-6am
Priority add-on

This comes in at £39 odd, so still within my budget, and should be plenty for my needs.

Also, just found out today, that uploads are not metered, so you can upload any time you like, and it won't affect anything.

Also, the CS team are really helpful. They will e-mail/txt back very quickly with answers to your questions.

A couple of other things to consider:

1. AAISP do not offer e-mail addresses as part of the service, but the above packages allow a free domain, which AAISP were happy to set up (I just need to provide my requested domain name).

2. If you want a 4 port Wireless router, you will need to purchase this seperately. I bought the one advertised on their site, for £49.99 plus postage, and it comes pre-set with your username etc. Should be a simple case of plug it in and go.

Looking forward to being with a decent ISP, rather than the disaster that was O2 Access.

Good luck.

Hi.
Do you have the link for the "slider meter" page? Having trouble finding it.
I'm using exactly the same tariff as yourself at the moment and would like to see how I could tailor the package to my needs.

Thanks
