What are AAISP like these days?

[link to this post]

I was with AAISP several years ago and left for Enta (I think), anyway right now I'm with Sky and have been thinking of moving for some time as I get pretty poor speed on the line the Sky is on.

I see some things haven't changed (still trying to wrap my head around this "unit" business) but most importantly, how's the service in terms of quality/latency/reliability?

I wouldn't say I'm a prolific downloader and it looks like £21 a month would cover most eventualities - the website doesn't (that I've found) break down exactly how the carry-over works i.e. is it anything concrete or "don't take the [censored]"?

Thanks in advance.

cheers,
Paul

It works on a give or take system so if you use a little bit less peak time bandwidth than you've paid for, then you'd be okay using a bit more than you should next month. Just don't go download crazy.

It's pretty simple really. You can carry over under or over usage "up to your tariff". So if, for example, you are on a 3Unit tariff you can carry over up to 3 Units of over or under usage.

Ah OK, so if I don't use all the off-peak allowance one month it can still be carried over as a "unit" and count towards peak or off peak usage the following month?

That's right. It is units that are carried over.
How you split between peak and off-peak is up to you.

The best way to think of the units is a bit like credit on a mobile phone.

Calls made at peak times cost more than off peak. It's up to you what time to make the phone calls.
