Usage dvice please

Just moved to aaisp & would not normally be at home during the day to use tinterweb, but after connecting this morning to aaisp, I see my hourly usage figures for the last 3 hours, & just browsing the web, not doing too much are 120MB, 80MB & 80MB respectively.
Do these seem right?
I would have thought browsing BBC news, this forum etc would not have used as much or am I way off?

80Mb an hour is really nothing...

Remember there will be things happening in the background on your PC - such as anti-virus updates and if someone sends you a large e-mail there isn't much you can do about it !

I am on the basic A&A package.

I email, receive photos etc from friends, browse loads, but I do not download music or video other than the odd Youtube. Most of this is during the day. I also use VoIP but that mainly in the evening.

Only the first month did I go over - because I kept using a Speedtester to check my speed at different times. And possibly another month when I had antivirus problems and had to keep downloading a new version from Kaspersky.

From the control pages (http://aaisp.net.uk/login-broadband.html) you can do a traffic capture (Dump link) - this will then show the traffic on your line. The capture is only for 10 seconds by may be enough to see what it is. Feel free to email/call support for further help though.

PS - looking at the 'CQM' graphs we produce for your line may give a clue - The graphs show the bandwidth used at any point of time, eg, listening to internet radio will mean a constant download and will show as a horizontal line...

I thiink this is entirely my fault in that I didn't know how much bandwidth was used by general browsing & listening to internet radio & that whilst daily use when i am work is fine, when i am off will push me over for month, off peak usage great though....will see

Make sure Windows update is set to only update during off peak hours as well (as well as any other software like Adobe that likes to update itself)
