Probaby a bit OTT. If AAISP were a bank or a financial services provider then i could understand. AAISP experienced a DDoS attack a year or so ago so maybe that played a big part.
But yes i agree, 2FA is excellent, I have an account with currencyfair they use 2FA and when i used to have a HSBC account in UAE many moons ago they also employed 2FA....far better than faffing around with their calculator-sized secure keys.

'twas BTO engineer that made things worse there at 1:30 pm on their 25th visit in 18 months. Their answer every time is ' Line checks good' and walk away. I suspect exchange fault as did Pulse8 when with them, but nobody will listen, especially OR. Dropping every couple of minutes and even TWICE before this short note typed and able to send. Unusable and worsening!

Improving login systems is nothing to do with any DDoS or any breach of our systems etc. It has been requested by customers in the past and is a good thing to offer.
