Netflix check with non-NAT

[link to this post]

Anyone else having issues with Netflix thinking devices are not in the same household because we have proper IP addresses (I have a /27 range), and then not being able to authorise because the mobile device and TV don't also appear to come from the same IP address?

I am fairly sure that Netflix supports IPv6 for content delivery - but not sure about the app/login process. I was surprised to discover that my 2018 LG TV supports IPv6.

If you have both your TV and Mobile in the same IPv6 /64 subnet - then it should be be treated the same as being on the same public IPv4 address?

If it's just a question of authorising, then I suggest you temporarily turn on NAT, do the authorisation, then turn it off again. I would expect it to continue to work even after the device changes its IP address.

Otherwise, take it up with Netflix support. Your /27 is presumably static and they should be able to help you get up and running. However, you need to expect to bang your head against the wall to get through to someone with a clue; I guess less than 0.01% of Netflix customers are in your situation.

(Indeed, if it were me, I would still NAT all my "user" devices to a single IP, and use the rest of the subnet for servers)
