Hi,
We're trying to put together a list of routers (along with VERY simple instructions if it's possible; longer ones won't fit where we want them; you can share them on the forums with each other though as before)..
This is what I have for the time being...
Supported
Virgin Media Super Hub (Advanced Settings > Avanced > Ping > Respond to ICMP echo requests sent to WAN IP)
TP-Link (System Tools > Manage Control > Service Configuration > enable 'remote)
ASUS Routers (Advanced Settings > Firewall > General > Respond Ping Request from WAN)
D-Link Routers (including TalkTalk; under 'Advanced Network'; may require you to create an ACL; Index 8)
Sky Hub (under 'Advanced' and 'WAN Setup')
Belkin Routers (Firewal Menu > WAN Ping Blocking and untick 'Block ICMP Ping' then Apply changes)
ZyXEL VMG1312 (Maintenance > Remote MGMT > IMCP protocol, enable WAN column)
DrayTek (Systems Maintenance > Management Access Control > untick 'Disable PING from Internet)'
Thomson / Technicolor Speedtouch (via telnet/CLI: "service system ifadd name PING_RESPONDER group wan")
Netgear Routers
Cisco IOS Routers
Not Supported
BT Home Hub or Smart Hub
PlusNet Hub Zero / Hub One (aka BT Home Hub 5a)
Does anyone else want to add any information (or correct anything?)
If specific routers do/don't support but differ from manufacturer that's helpful.. if all manufacturer ones are there, I don't want to include all the links.

Billion 8800NL R2 (Configuration > Security > Block WAN PING > Radio buttons "Enable|Disable" One IPv4, one IPv6. Then click Apply)
You have a typo, Avanced rather than Advanced in the VM Super Hub entry.
HG612 in router mode of course but I forget where. And the 622 that some people have.
Plusnet 582N. Again, I've ditched it.
Kindness isn't going to cure the world of all its awfulness but it's a good place to begin. Daisy Ridley.
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - AAISP Home::1 80/20. Sync 65258/14193Kbps @ 600m. BQMs - IPv4 & IPv6

The Zyxel VMG8924 needs the same settings as the VMG1312.
The VMG8324 will be the same as well, although I don't have first hand experience of that.

Thanks
We're not going to list pieces of software (otherwise we'd need to include Windows, etc..) - if you're going to run pfSense then you will know (same with Cisco IOS actually.. was going to add something like that comment wise but since they are a bit more popular within business, we've mentioned it, but we're going to explain how to do this as it varies so much based on config)
Those fall within this forum's remit

Thomson / Technicolor Speedtouch (via telnet/CLI: "service system ifadd name PING_RESPONDER group wan")
The newer ones (last 2/3 years) have a very easy method in the GUI. Although the interface has changed a little since with a block/grid system - the option is as simple.

Would it be possible to add the ability to ping hostnames? Like f8lure...

We want to do this but it's non-trivial so once these other things are out of the way we can look at this.

Sounds good and will go far to making this service more useful to the majority of customers as none of the big 4 offer a static IP as standard.

Actually, it's looking likely we'll have this quite soon

You got those other things out of the way quickly then!
Looking forward to seeing it. How long are you thinking?
f8lure seems to be unreliable from the short time I've been using it, with big gaps in the graphs, yet the "second opinion" at AAISP is absolutely fine.
I come here every day so would rather my first opinion be here!

Actually no.. it was already built as functionality into a new code base - but there's a bug with the interface with the FireBrick unit that needs dealing with.. hopefully that will be resolved in a few days.
I don't like putting timescales on things but .. very very close

AAISP use the same technology as it's based on the Firebricks (they use them as LNS to terminate broadband connections).. but that doesn't measure Internet services. If you're on AA, a static IP should be standard though, no?

Awesome, looking forward to it!
I was on AAISP, yes, but switched away due to costs. If I were still with AAISP I'd not need third party monitoring as AAISP provide LCP echo monitoring along with throughput on the same graph, which is somewhat more useful than latency alone.
My router (routerboard) has throughput graphing, so should a problem show on a latency graph I can cross-reference it with the throughput graph from my router. Not as elegant a solution, but cheaper...!

LCP Echo is great at monitoring the end circuit.. it's only possible by the ISP though
Latency throughout a connection is still useful though in identifying odd issues.

Just letting you know its works on the FRITZ!Box 4040 Router.
This device is a router only so it has no modem in it, this gets connected via the WAN Port on my ONT.
As to setting it up to work with BQM, all I did was disable all the stuff that I didn't want like WPS and Fritz related stuff.
Out of the box it allows and responds to ICMP packets / messages.
Also if it was at all possible can we have a way to change the actual IP the BQM is pinging, having to disable and remove then recreate with a new IP isn't that hard to do, but due to the way the forums work, it would result in all old posts having invalid links.
And by having a way to change the IP when it gets changed without changing the long hash type file name would be great.

There's a firmware fix from Firebrick which is currently in testing but there's no release version which we need before we can implement it; there's one thing waiting our side which should be done this month. Hopefully both will align.
