BQM graph - different results using raw IP address vs ddns

Can someone please explain why my BQM graphs vary depending on whether I use the raw IP address versus my DDNS address (pointing to the same raw IP address)?

Oddly the DDNS graph seems to behave much better than the raw IP address.
