VM 100Mb, help required, what does this graph mean?

Hello. I'm a new user of the BQM, after an extended period of getting repeated buffering on live BBC radio streams. My graph isn't like any of the example ones I can find

and it's pretty much the same every day - all red except a very specific period between 8pm and 10pm. I have put a check in the box in the DMZ page of the router settings, however the text for the text box is different to what is shown on the setup guide. My text is; "Check to enable or uncheck to disable your demilitarized zone". I also have a check in "Respond to ICMP echo requests sent to WAN IP" in the Ping menu.

My tracerroute is showing some packet loss, but not the 100% that the BQM is showing

sorry I can not help fix the issue but the 2 check boxes you have used are meaningless for you.

* DMZ is for when you are running a server in your house hosting games, email,website etc
* Respond to ping, is for someone on the internet to get a ping request back from your router, if off then the router sends no response back.

Try adjusting your MTU (google is your friend) slightly.
It could just be the virgin media circuit you are on is loaded with other users causing some congestion.

Turn off DMZ NOW, it can be a security risk unless you know what you are doing.

The respond to ICMP echo requests is the correct setting. We have recently seen other Virgin Media users with the same problem, with pings working only when a device was online and using the Internet.

As long as you did not put a number in the DMZ edit host box - then yes you would be OK.

I had forgot that Virgin hide the ping stuff away under DMZ window
