Strange max latency (or is it normal)

[link to this post]

Good morning,

Since “upgrading” from Virgin Hub4 to a Hub5, I have noticed an increase in latency when streaming videos and something just feels “off” to me. Does this BQM look right to you experienced folk?

VM Hub5 Live BQM

The Max latency seems odd to me especially the resting one, when no one is using the internet and whats with the spikes seen in the early hours of the morning? I never saw this on the Hub4. Hub5 network status shows many pre-rs errors on download channels and quite a few T3 errors on all upload channels and yet Samknows Realspeed shows speeds are as to be expected.. so VM think all is hunky dory on their end.

Appreciate you taking the time to read and comment.

If this is normal, then so be it but if something is off, it would be good to understand whats going on.

I'm also seeing this, assuming you mean the blocks of max latency. It changed for me on Tuesday. It used to be fairly flat. I'm also noticing that I sometimes have to click on links, two, three times before it'll load. When it does load, it's pretty much instant.

Yes, exactly that. Does not look right. Thats a drastic change on your end. Did you notice any difference outside of the weird latency chunks when idle?

I haven't really noticed much change tbh. I can still max out the speed. Websites still generally load quickly, although sometimes take a couple of goes to load. That seems to of started since the outage on the 4th. I'm not sure if it's a routing change on VM's end, but if it is, I'm not sure why it would return to normal for an hour or two and then go back to having chunks of latency.

This one shows when it started on Tuesday. Ignore the packet loss, that was me changing things, thinking it was something to do with the router.
