Recent Virgin Media Broadband Quality / Dropouts

[link to this post]

Hi, We've been having issues the last few weeks with our M250 Virgin broadband, including WiFi calls dropping regularly, pauses in downloading etc. Virgin have so far replaced the hub, which I didn't think was the problem, but I'm having difficulty engaging their networks team. I'd appreciate any thoughts on the graphs here:

Many thanks in-advance,

Martin.

Doesn't look particularly healthy to me - even for a Virgin DOCSIS (presumably?) service its pretty dire. Lots and lots of very serious periods of extreme packet loss.

They need to investigate and resolve.

Ok thanks both. Network engineer coming soon, I hope!

For no apparent reason*, at about 4pm Saturday, it improved massively and has then looked very different.

Does this now look ok to you? Do you know what might be causing the hourly spikes in Max latency on the most recent graph?

many thanks again, Martin.

*Network engineer trucks did disappear from our roads at this time, but they were fitting fiber, so perhaps a coincidence??

The packet loss is gone which will doubtless have improved matters considerably. There are still some latency spikes, which aren't great, but which shouldn't impact you any nearly as badly as the packet loss.

The improvement was almost certainly *not* coincidental with any engineering work that went on that day.

Keep an eye on it.
