bqm query....

[link to this post]

hi,

I have been uing the bqm for a number of years. I have a static ip v4, fibre service.

From sept 18th this year I now see small amounts of packet loss which has never been there in the past 2 years, same kit and config... I just wondered if there have been any changes in the way that the monitor works or something was changed on the 18th september as thats when it started,..just a tad confused why it continues. I tried 2 different router builds of pfsense and opnsense, different nic and both show the same red drops, just seems odd that historically this was never there before. Any other pf or opn users seeing this kind of thing.
Please ignore the yellow spikes - that is my end. Its the red drops Im asking about. I know the link is saturated but the red drops haven't been there in the last 24 months, hence my question...

old sample with no "small red drops", pre sept 18th 2025 pre red drops

current sample with red drops from sept 18th 2025 post sept 18th 20205

I am just genuinely intersted in why this has now started given it hasnt been there for the last 2 years...

any thoughts appreciated

thanks

Tbh I tried that route but they insist there is no packet loss at the exchange which they say they have monitored. The process was like pulling teeth!...

I think they were asking which ISP you are using. I used to see similar on Aquiss but it didn't impact my usage so it didn't bother me.
