Using Home Hub with other DECT phones

[link to this post]

I am thinking of getting BT Broadband soon, and wonder if this will work...

I currently have 2 BT DECT Handsets, so I want to plug the HomeHub into the phone line with the Hub phone, and also connect my other 2 DECT handsets to the Hub.
That way, I have 3 handsets running off 1 phone socket.

Is this possible, and if so, will all 3 ring for both landline and VOIP calls?

I would like to be able to answer both types of calls (Landline and VOIP) from all handsets.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Jeff

The the hub is also a base for cordless phones so you can register other handsets to it. I have the hub phone and 2 other 'normal' handsets registered to mine.

Current firmware doesn't allow setting it to ring for incoming landline calls...but there is a way round it and it's a feature in a forthcoming firmware release which I saw a sneak preview of from a BT guinea pig.

What is the way around it?
I wanna use my hub phone as a regular land line phone, as i have no need for a second line.

You can. I have 2 Hub Phones. One is registered to the Home Hub so I can use it as the Internet phone.

My other one is registered to my landline cordless base station along with my other household 'normal' phones, so it uses the landline only.

To do this, on your normal phone's base station, press the Page button and hold it (assuming that your normal phone's base station is also made by BT) and the light will start to flash. If your normal phone is made by some other company, refer to their instructions. Then on the Hub Phone, go to Menu, go to Registration, and do Register Handset. Register it and it should work. If not, go back to the Registration menu and do Select Base and select another base.

It will work eventually, I don't remember the order. It also depends on whether your normal base station accepts other/extra handsets. On BT base stations, it's usually a max of 5 handsets to 1 base.

The new hub firmware 6.2.2.6 allows the hub phone to ring when the landline is called.

my setup is a dect phone on HH and dect phones on landline,if i want to make a landline call from dect phone connected to HH i just press button 5 on the keypad to get landline dial tone....and continue as normal,or just pick it up,dial as normal and use the broadband talk number over the internet
incoming landline call rings ALL dect phones,to answer, either pick up HH dect phone and press button 5 or pick up any other dect phone as normal

my firmware is 6.1.1.R

Sorry if this is a daft question but how do I register a DECT phone on the Home Hub? I would prefer not to have to plug the phone base station into the hub in order to save another wire across the desk. The DECT handset has the normal "register another base station" option but I can't see how to make the hub base station visible.

Thanks - the other link you provided says to press the wireless association button which does sound rather obvious. The only reference though that I could find in the manual was to a complete reset of the hub. Hence my reluctance to use it.

Will give it a try.
