BT VISION-received a disappointing email?

[link to this post]

Yesterday I received an email from the BTVision team saying that I couldn't receive the service as 'Unfortunately, we regret that our test on your line suggests the signal strength is not high enough to ensure you will be able to watch the on demand services. We are therefore unable to offer you BT Vision at this point in time.'

I synch at 4224 kbps and have a throughout of around 3400/3500 kbps!

After some to and froing of emails in which I was advised that tests on my line showed I could only get a maximum of 1MB, even though I have been on maxdsl since it started (suspect those 'tests' simply consisted of checking the totally out of date database), I was finally given a number to call the BTVision Team direct - 0800 800 900 8am-10pm.

So I called them to be advised of the following:

Apparently the BTVision team have sent out emails to those who CAN get the service saying they are not eligible for it, and emails to those who CANNOT get the service, saying they can . Or as he put it 'A Monumental C*ck*p'

So if you have got one of these emails the best advice is to ignore it and wait for the follow up apology which apparently will be 'sent out shortly'

You mean like this. lol

In reply to:

Earlier this week we sent you an email saying that you would not be able to receive BT Vision.
Unfortunately we had a slight technical hitch and the email was sent to you by mistake.
Once we have confirmed the availability of BT Vision in your area we will be in touch again - or please call freephone 0800 91 77 613 (9am-8pm, Mon-Sat) to check whether you can get the service.
Please accept our sincere apologies for any confusion caused.
Kind regards,

The BT Vision Team

ROFL

Once we have confirmed the availability of BT Vision in your area

We haven't appointed any (cough) 'engineers' trained up in your area yet? (Not a dig at BT engineers-I presume they are using third party companies for this)

No email received here yet
