About to upgrade

[link to this post]

Just a quickie! I'm about to sign up for the 8Mb service. Please confirm the following are correct before I go ahead.
a) I can just leave my Voyager with its current settings attached to my system (wired and wireless) and the upgrade will go ahead with a little variation/hassle with speeds and synching for about 10 days until my best speed is established.
b) I don't even need to unpack the home hub.
c) I don't have to install anything on my computer.
d) I should leave my router on for the 10 days after the upgrade.
e) The best way to upgrade is via the web, alternatively the phone number to use is the usual technical help desk one.
Having read lots of posts on this forum, the above points are the ones that I've gathered are right. Please let me know if anything is wrong.

All fine I believe!

Definately don't keep on unplugging the phone line or switching off the router again and again during the 10 day period. And don't do that any time after that because your speed will just go down and it takes 3 full days to even begin picking up.

You don't have to use the BT Home Hub unless you want the service features like BT Vision, BT Fusion, IP Telephony etc. As long as your router/modem is compatible with ADSL Max (8 Mbps) the Internet should be fine.

Your speeds won't start off at full speed straight away. And it will fluctuate heavily for the first 10 days, maybe even a little after. But it will eventually settle somewhere and fluctuate less.
