Does anyone's web browsing stop with firmware 6226

[link to this post]

Ever since I got version 6226, my web activity sometimes stops. This usually happens a night at about 10-12 pm. I have noticed that it might only be effecting TCP traffic like web browsing, instant messaging and my e-mail client, because programs that use UDP (like BitTorrent) continue to work properly.

To get everything working again, I have to turn off the BT Home Hub and turn it back on. When it cycles back on, everything works.

Does this happen to anyone with the new firmware? And if it does, does UDP traffic continue to work (try running BitTorrent or some other UDP program and see if it continues to download/upload).

This has happened with me on every firmware revision since I have had the homehub. I have notified BT on several occasions about the problem but they have failed to act. The response I get from BT is "The BT Home Hub has been extensively tested in a lab". Every problem I have submitted apart from one or two I have got that response from them. That also came from product development.

As for your specific problems, my home hub needs to be rebooted every 3days consistently as it will stop working like you mentioned, yet traceroutes, pings and bit torrent will all work fine. But no web browsing, no instant messenger applications will work.

I to noted slow web pages after the firmware upgrade.
I have now resolved my slow web pages by entering custom dns settings entered into the hub.
I am now very pleased with the hub and speed issues.

Sorry if i have mis understood your query

I should probably enter my settings back into Dr TCP. I used to but then I made them all default. I'll do it again and see how it goes. Although yesterday night I didn't get the TCP-side hanging so I'll wait and see if it is fine tonight too.
