Never heard of Traffic Shaping!!

[link to this post]

Hi All,

Just wanted to share my recent experience of BT tech support. I phoned them up as my connection seemed unusually slow, to the point where after checking at various times/days etc, I was/am under the impression that my connection has been subject to traffic shaping.

The person who picked up the call didn't know what traffic shaping was. He then went off to ask 3 of his supervisors who had never heard of the term.

Frustrated, I emailed their technical support people only to receive another emailing asking me to clarify what this term meant.

Does anyone know what number to call where I can speak to someone who actually can help me??? WTH are BT paying their tech support for!?!

Raj

If this is true that is very poor.

Truly tragic, this is so sad. Some have reported an email to the MD works wonders, maybe he would be interested in the knowledge level of some of his teams?!

Maybe they use a different term. I've heard traffic shaping called a different number of terms before. One being "network management".
