Removing ring wire made a huge difference!

I decided to remove the ring wire after reading tips on this forum. Well it made a huge difference for me. Before I would sync ok @ 5-6.5mbps. However, I would have a very low SNR of about 5.5-6.5. This of course cause the invevitable resync every now and again as my line struggled to keep the higher speed. If I synced at say 4.5, then my SNR would be fine and over 10.

I did though want the highest speed my line could support. So I removed the ring wire and I have been stable for the last 3 days @ 5376 kbps. At first my IP Profile was stuck on 3.5, but after a couple of days it has shot back up to 4.5 and my SNR is a healthy 11.00 - 10.

So anyone suffering the odd re sync should definitely remove that annoying ring wire. FYI the ring wire is not needed as there is one in the splitter. The other way to do it is to by an ADSL faceplate.

The ring wire has not been needed for years as only very old phones need it.

silly question but what colour is the ring wire?
