Goodbye BT - Hello Premium Mail??

[link to this post]

After a few years with BT Broadband I have finally taken the plunge and have just ordered Vodafone At Home. The real crunch was ever deteriorating Customer Service (the Indians have been, I am afraid, nothing short of hopeless in responding to any problems I have had!). Anyway, I couldn't stand it any longer.
Vodafone will give me Unlimited 8Mb Broadband, Phone rental and all inclusive phone calls for a bargain

I downgraded to PAYG when I left BT and I can keep my BT email address as long as I dial up every 90 days. I didn't want to pay monthly for the email address
The following is somewhere on BT Yahoo! Help:

How can I cancel my BT Yahoo! dial-up account?

Cancelling or downgrading to BT Yahoo! Pay-as-you-go
If you wish to cancel your dial up connection product (e.g. BT Yahoo!
Anytime, BT Yahoo! Surftime etc.) or if you wish to downgrade to a BT Yahoo!
Pay-As-You-Go account then please contact us on:

0800 085 2819
(Please note: This desk cannot help with technical enquiries or billing
enquiries.)

Note even if you cancel your dial up connection product we will
automatically revert your account back to a Pay-As-You-Go account - this
gives you the option of retaining your BT Yahoo! email address (subject to
BT Yahoo! Pay-As-You-Go terms and conditions).

Note also, we have set up our systems to switch your account to
Pay-As-You-Go only once your current monthly payment subscription has
expired. You can continue to use your current dial-up service and once this
payment has run its course you'll be prompted to update your dialler to the
Pay-As-You-Go service.

To upgrade to BT Broadband
Click on the link below then click on the 'Yes' button when asked to confirm
you're an existing BT Yahoo! Internet customer. This way you won't need to
do anything to cancel your existing BT Yahoo! dial-up account. You'll no
longer be charged for it - it'll be automatically converted to BT Broadband
for you and all your email addresses will stay the same

Then- after it's done :

BT Yahoo! Pay-As-You-Go 0844 090 2270 for newer customers, otherwise 0845
756 0000
Internet access charged at the following BT rates*:
6am-6pm weekdays - 4p per minute
6pm-6am weekdays - 1.5p per minute
Friday midnight- Sunday midnight - 1p per minute at weekends
*Different charges may apply depending on your telephony provider.
A minimum charge of 5p applies.

BT Yahoo! ISDN access 0845 712 8000
128 kbps ISDN access is available on all BT Yahoo! packages. 128k ISDN
access is charged at local rates and constitutes two simultaneous calls.

BT Yahoo! from abroad
International (PSTN): +44 121 478 9200
International (ISDN): +44 121 478 9300
Please note: Caller Line Identity (CLI) is required. CLI is not sent from
all countries/hotels. If you experience problems, please contact the
telephone provider/hotelier. Please check with your hotelier for call
charges. If you only need access to your email, you can do this with webmail
using local internet access.
