Slow web pages

Does anyone have any info on what the problem is with the slow access to web pages at the moment. It seems to be fairly widespread looking at the newsgroups but no one seems to have any idea of what the cause is.

A few people have been reporting it I will dig about and see.

Hi, I am finding it slow going just now. The speed tester on this site shows that my download speed is as fast as it has always been. However surfing and downloading files are going at a snail pace.
I have never really had any speed problems in the past but just now download speed are varying all over the place.

I've been having the same problem. For the past two weeks between 4 pm and 11 pm download speeds and browsing have been ridiculously slow, yet when I do a speed test on this website and the BT speed test the results are as should be ( 2.8 Mbps). However if I immediately do a speed test on either the BroadBand max or speedtest.net websites they give a reading of around 0.3 Mbps !!??

Same here. slow in the evening it's been like this for about a week.

No problem, next time I report back it will most likely be fixed. It's being looked into.

Same here - slow in the evenings - at least 2 weeks now.

Same again here except its generally slow all day and gets a little worse in the evening its starting to annoy me somewhat

Edit: I just noticed that BT finally changed the info on the my account page so the usage says unlimited instead of 40GB did they change anything else along with that?

Just ran the BT Broadband Desktop help speed tester, result below.

Your computer downloaded the file at a speed of:

0.079 megabits per second

I used to have a steady 3 meg download speed virtually all the time until about a week ago.
I hope BT find the problem soon.
